Running shoes Wave Rider BetaUnleash your performance with the Mizuno Wave Rider Beta, running shoes that combine tradition and innovation with every step.
THE COLLABORATION & INSPIRATION :
The Wave Rider β dyed by Buaisou is the result of a unique collaboration, rooted in the deep connection and aligned principles of Mizuno and Buaisou. Both brands share a significant affinity for the colour blue: one choosing it as its signature shade and the other as a renowned Japanese workshop for dyeing and indigo agriculture. Tradition is very important for both, with Mizuno placing it as one of its core values and Buaisou supporting traditional indigo dyeing methods.
THE SHOES :
Each fabric of the shoes is meticulously dyed by hand and assembled by skilled artisans, ensuring that each sneaker is unique. The base material dyed with a mould specifically made for this pack lays the groundwork for various indigo dyeing techniques. On the medial side, the “Shibori-zome” method is used to create unique tie-dye patterns. The remaining upper features a distinct pattern created using the “Bassen” technique, perfect for executing small logos and intricate designs. The “Katajime” technique, where plastic boards are used to compress the fabric and create dye-resistant areas, is employed to highlight the Runbird logo. Dyed labels on the tongue and insole display the names of both brands as symbols of the collaboration.
Each pair of Wave Rider β dyed by Buaisou comes with a tote bag and a Japanese-style fan.
